a better way to "help" Idahoans deal with the rising cost of groceries is to TRIPLE the grocery tax rebate. Cancelling the tax will just cause the legislature to spend $10 million opening a new agency to define what part of "groceries" are still taxable....soda pop, potatoe chips, ding dongs, ho-ho's...etc. make the REBATE scalable such that anyone who makes over $150k gets zero. Cancelling the grocery tax really only helps the wealthy and the tourists!
triple the homeowners exemption if you really want to help homeowners with property taxes!
I propose doing away with property tax using a formula like Ammon Bundy proposed here https://www.votebundy.com/about/keep-idaho-idaho-plan/?1_1. Then, lower all sales taxes without differentiation. That way we won’t need a Bureaucracy Of Grocery Item Differentiation (BOGID)— everything is taxed less, no red tape.
