Before I begin with the details of the Twin Falls reorganization meeting and LD Districts 24 and 25, I would like you to read How the Gem State Conservation Plan to Take Over the Idaho GOP by Brian Almon. This will provide you with more background on what I am about to share.
“Luna and Clark formed a statewide organization called Gem State Conservatives (GSC), contracting with Biden supporter Christa Hazel“
So much is making sense now. Do you remember when Larry Hollifield, a Precinct Committee Officer (PCO), asked me to leave a meeting held at the Farm Bureau office, and I later found out that the speaker was a woman named Christa Hazel? Many of your local elected officials, both past and present, were there. I think it would be safe to say this was not a birthday party, but a meeting with an agenda on how they plan to retake the Republican Party from grassroots citizens who genuinely want to work for their precincts rather than for special interests.
Many of you received this mailer that was put out by the Gem State Conservatives who their people are.
Let’s go through a few names:
Dr. Steven Kohtz Precinct TF25: The officials, Steven Kohtz, MD, president of the association's Board of Trustees, and Susie Keller, CEO of the association, wrote a letter to the state's Board of Medicine on October 7, stating that Cole -- who has spoken out against COVID-19 vaccines -- has said "he has treated patients 'from Florida to California'" with ivermectin. Thank goodness for Dr. Ryan Cole who stood up against the lies of covid and ivermectin. Dr. Steven Kohtz will you truly work and serve the people of Precinct 25 (my precinct)?
Eric Smallwood Precinct TF2: Was appointed to the Twin falls Urban Renewal Board to finish out my challenger Alex Caval’s term. Will you truly work and serve the people of Precinct 2?
Cecila Gould, A non elected PC: She previously served in the Idaho House of Representativesfrom district 22A from 1986 to 2002. She also signed Butch Otters open primary endorsement.
Twin Falls Republican Central Committe(TFRCC) reorganization meeting. The Gem State(GS) PCO’s won 31 of the 44 seats(blue), the Grassroots(GR) PCO’s won 13 (red).
The meeting began with a roll call, and 42 of the 44 members were present, consisting of 29 Gem State Conservatives and 13 Grassroots PCOs. Prosecuting Attorney Grant Loebs asked me to help count the ballots, and I agreed. They did this to ensure there would be no grounds for future challenges. Additionally, knowing they had the majority, all 29 members had been given their marching orders.
The first order of business was electing a new Chairman. Andrew Mix nominated Tom Wangeman, and Steven Kohtz seconded the motion. (For every motion going forward, Andrew will nominate, and Steven will second.) Next, Josh Kohl nominated Joan Hurlock, and Connie Smith seconded the motion. (This pattern will also continue for every motion.) Tom Wangeman and Joan Hurlock each gave a two-minute speech. The secret ballots were counted, resulting in 30 votes for Tom Wangeman and 12 for Joan Hurlock. The new Chairman, Tom Wangeman, took over the meeting, replacing Suzie Hawkins.
Charted Results.
According to the Rules and Bylaws, a person does not have to be an elected Precinct Committee Officer to hold a leadership position. However, just because it is a rule doesn’t mean it is the right approach. I believe that leadership roles should be filled by those who have been elected by the people. The Republican Party believes in our Constitutional Republic, not in a non-elected bureaucratic system that is not accountable to the people.
The Twin Falls Republican Central Committee (TFRCC) ignored Magic Valley voters by installing officers and state committee members who were rejected at the polls. If they continue to ignore the voters, it sends a loud and clear message that they have no respect for the electorate and consider them irrelevant.
Delegate and Alternate List
Trent Clark, a founder of Gem State Conservative, donated $100,000 to support precinct races statewide. He then appeared on a local radio station in Eastern Idaho, stating that he wants Precinct Committee members to return to tasks like blowing up balloons and baking cookies. Why would someone spend $100,000 if that’s all he envisions for these roles?
This all began when Dorothy Moon overwhelmingly won against Tom Luna in 2022. Following her victory announcement, the Twin Falls Republican Central Committee (TFRCC) and the Jerome Republican Central Committee walked out, and they have been focused on vengeance ever since. Now, in 2024, they are attempting to unseat her through nefarious actions, money, and manipulation.
The Gem State Conservatives should be renamed the Gem State Cons. One must ask: did they run to serve the people, or were they recruited for an agenda motivated by a desire to retain power? I will let you all decide.
The power lies with the people. If you do not like what you are seeing and hearing, it is up to you to attend Central Committee meetings and obtain the contact information of your Precinct Committee Officers (PCs). They should be providing this information proactively, as they work for you. If they don't, you should demand that they give you their contact information, as they are accountable to you.
What's happening to Idaho truly is a Gem State Heist and a heartbreaking travesty. Videos about more such heists are here (short link): https://tinyurl.com/44c3j9an
You hit the nail straight on the head when you said there's "an agenda on how they plan to retake the Republican Party from grassroots citizens who genuinely want to work for their precincts rather than for special interests." This is true for every level of elected offices in the state. Fortunately, the grassroots held on in many places -- but for how long? We all must work together to preserve and Keep Idaho IDAHO.
The lust for power, money, and control is immense. As I see it, the grassroots simply wants to preserve the reasonable conservative values of the Idaho Republican Platform (https://www.idgop.org/wp-content/uploads/2020/07/2020-Updated-Idaho-GOP-Platform.pdf). Its preamble begins as follows:
"We believe the strength of our nation lies with our faith and reliance on God our Creator, the individual, and the family; and that each person's dignity, freedom, ability and responsibility must be honored."
Right wing extremist values? I think not!
Sounds almost identical to what was witnessed in Bonneville's reorganization meeting.
