Since Mike Moyle created or had his hand in creating a DOGE task force out of thin air, I'm curious as to why he and Kelly Anthon think they need it. None of the legislators chosen should be on this task force with the exception of Rep Heather Scott who is sensible and possesses good investigative skills for uncovering graft.

Governance has a nervous system too -- and you’re one of the few acting like it. This isn’t just fiscal conservatism. It’s metabolic clarity. Keep going. 🔥❤️

It’s looking more and more like Moyle thinks he can write his own rules. Since when does a bill FAIL and they ignore the vote of the legislators? That alone should be an ethics review. But, wait, who is on ethics? Manwarring is listed as an alternate and Redman (listed co-sponsor on H364, but absent for the vote) are on ethics. So we’d maybe need a more independent review of why Moyle gets to establish his own pet task force.

Is there a reason only 8 are listed when they bill says 9? Is Moyle the 9th?

You also have to laugh a little about the irony of a task force with no ceiling on the fiscal note. And it will fund AI. (Maybe this AI will be the acceptable AI…different from the scorecard AI the poor scorers have been whining about).

This is so frustrating!!! One step forward and a 1000 steps back. Thank you for letting us see into this political debacle, even if it causes heart burn. I really wish the public cared enough to see the waste being created in Idaho!

Thank you, Sen. Zuiderveld. We thought this terrible task force idea had died on the vine, but apparently the gardeners have been busy little bees behind the legislature's and taxpayers' back.

It's outrageous to create a "government efficiency" task force composed almost entirely of people who are part of the spending problem (their dismal IFF spending scores reveal all). This unauthorized task force should be disbanded and the legislators sent home until next session. Their job is attending to the state's spending IN SESSION, transparently. Ridiculously, these extra-session meetings embody the reckless tax-funded spending they supposedly are trying to rein in.

We opposed the DOGE task force when it was introduced as H0364 in March 2025, stating "this implementation could be wolves guarding the hen house." OK, should have been foxes, but you get the idea. Our thoughts mirrored Sen. Zuiderveld's almost exactly: https://substack.com/profile/68304299-big-e/note/c-99141068

We'll soon share "Idaho Doesn’t Need Another Task Force It Needs a Backbone!! Who’s Watching the Watchdogs?" with our Substack subscribers and followers. Sen. Zuiderveld, thank you, yet again, for shining the light in the legislature's dark places.
