Fighting to preserve our freedoms and liberties is not for the faint of heart or the complacent. I remind myself daily that I have eternity to rest. There are many battlefronts, and it’s time for all hands to be on deck. Here are a few areas that need your attention and engagement:
In Twin Falls, a couple of bold gun shops are standing their ground against a gun registry called LeadsOnline. I encourage you to read the latest update from Idaho Dispatch for more information. AG’s office response.
Idaho’s most precious resource, water, remains a critical issue. Southern and Eastern Idaho are still working on solutions to preserve our aquifer and protect all of Idaho’s agriculture.
Regarding elections, Proposition 1 will be on your November ballot. This measure would introduce a jungle primary and ranked-choice voting to Idaho. RCV threatens to undermine the principle of one person, one vote. I recommend watching this short video to help you better understand the implications. We still have to get the Idaho legislature to have its own, hermetically sealed legal offices (one for the House, one for the Senate), so that you can ask for an opinion as a legislator about the effective posed legislation and the legality of it, and have it be completely protected by the attorney-client privilege until you are ready to discuss it with your fellow legislators.
The current practice of going to the AG’s office since 1997 has not served Idaho well. There is no benefit to continually growing the executive branch.
