THE WATCHMAN

What does being a “Watchman” mean? Let’s begin with learning the Hebrew meaning, The Hebrew word for watchman is 'tsaphah' and it has the meaning 'to lean forward, to peer into the distance; by implication means to observe, behold, spy out, wait for, keep the watch.'  The Greek word gregoreo, translated as "watch," means to keep awake, to watch and to take heed.

What is the roll of a “Watchman”?  The faithful Watchman will give the alarm at the approach of the enemy, will blow the trumpet in the ears of the sleeping, and endeavor to awake and alarm those with in our walls/borders.  A “Watchman” has insight. Ezekiel 3, God gave Ezekiel a vision back in Jerusalem to observe the lifestyle of those Jews who were left behind when Nebuchadnezzar captured the city and took many captive to Babylon.It seems that the majority of the populace had not learned from the many warnings to change their wicked ways. In Jerusalem the people continued to worship false gods and strange customs completely different from what God had given their forefathers. Violence was an everyday occurrence. The job of the watchmen really just two-fold - Firstly to see the enemy and then, secondly, to alert the people of the coming danger.

There are many enemies at the gate, and sadly, already inside. I want to warn you about them. In this newsletter, I will be warning you of OPEN BOARDERS AND ILLEGAL IMMIGRATION. Is Idaho also being invaded?

• 8 million illegal aliens who have entered the U.S. since Biden became president.  

• According to FAIRUS “Lax border policies have also allowed more illegal aliens to enter from authoritarian nations such as Vladimir Putin’s Russia and communist China. The number of Chinese nationals encountered has almost doubled between FYs 2022-2023 and increased by 58 percent for Russians. In terms of single adults that figure has gone up by 36 percent for Russian nationals and 73 percent for Chinese nationals.

• DHS estimates that over 3,000 known terror suspects have entered the U.S. illegally.

• Since the onset of the Biden border crisis three years ago, DHS has witnessed a surge in sex trafficking, narcotics, and illegal firearm smuggling. Simultaneously, as the U.S. struggles to furnish housing, healthcare, and social services to millions of undocumented immigrants, it continues to admit a record number of asylum seekers and refugees

• In Idaho Data from the Idaho State Police (ISP) 2022 Crime in Idaho report shows law enforcement agencies around the state reported 36 offenses of human trafficking last year. Comapared to 6 in 2021, that is a 433.33% increase.

• Illegal migration costs the American taxpayer approximately $182.1 billion annually as of the beginning of 2023. They only contribute approximately $31.4 billion in taxes at the state and federal levels, meaning that illegal immigration costs American taxpayers a net of at least $150.7 billion annually.

• The total fiscal burden of illegal immigration on state state taxpayers has now reached a staggering $115.6 billion, which is 30 percent more than it was in 2017. The primary reasons for this, aside from a rapid increase in the illegal alien population, are that a number of states have opted to expand access to state welfare, education, and medical programs to illegal aliens. These expansions have led to taxpayers paying tens of billions in additional funding to cover these costs.

  • The burden on Idahoans per house is $616.00 annually.

    

    Now that I have blown the horn of warning!

    What can we do to protect Idaho?

• We must NOT accept any form of amnesty, whether it takes the shape of a law or a joint memorial, as suggested by SJM 101, which I opposed. Nor should we support measures like S1081 which would allow those here illegally to obtain driver's licenses. It's important to recognize who is truly fighting for Idaho and who is willing to compromise its integrity. You will notice that Senator Jim Guthrie, a member of the Main Street Caucus, sponsored both of these bills. Is he the kind of watchman you want for Idaho? I also suggest you review who voted for and co-sponsored SJM 101 and ask yourselves if these are the guardians you want.

• Senator Dan Foreman and Representative Heather Scott, members of the Idaho Freedom Caucus, fought hard to introduce some immigration protections. S1030 “This legislation adds a new chapter to Title 19, Idaho Code, to provide for the enforcement of federal immigration law, and provides procedures for the Idaho Attorney General to seek equitable relief from a government entity found in violation of Title 19, Idaho Code.” S1006 “Idaho Code, to provide for the enforcement of federal immigration law, and provides procedures for the Idaho Attorney General to seek equitable relief from a government entity found in violation of Title 19, Idaho Code, to include the denial of sales tax distribution funds.” Unfortunately, these measures never advanced past the Senate State Affairs Committee, chaired by Senator Guthrie."

In Article 4, Section 4 of the U.S. Constitution, “The United States shall guarantee to every State in this Union a Republic Form of Government, and shall protect each of them against Invasion; and on Application of the Legislature, or of the Executive (when the Legislature cannot be convened) against domestic Violence.”

Idahoans need to start flexing their state sovereignty muscles if the federal government will not uphold their oath to protect against invasions coming through our open borders. Idaho, you need to elect bold and courageous state leaders who will be strong 'watchmen,' always warning and ready to defend you. If you don't have strong 'watchmen,' you may be the one who needs to challenge and replace them.
