So many battles—we are battling the never-ending spending, the indoctrination of our children, the invasion of our borders and public lands, to just name a few. I want to touch on one of them here
.
Recently, Rep. Simpson sent a Press Release detailing how hard he is working to block the Lava Ridge Wind Project, and Laurie Lickley who is running for Idaho State Senate sent an email praising him for his efforts. Here is my opinion.
" 'I worked very hard to create a product that boosts our national security, creates American jobs, and refocuses Washington spending, all while protecting Republican priorities,' said Rep. Simpson." He then continued, stating, "It blocks the Lava Ridge Wind Project until the Secretary of the Interior consults with local elected officials and stakeholders, providing alternate plans to reduce the harmful impacts of this project."
As I reflect on this statement, I am reminded that it is an election year for Rep. Simpson, and he faces a challenger. It's typical for the government to attempt to fix a problem in a document spanning 1050 pages.Click here to read the 1050 pages. However, what Rep. Simpson doesn’t clarify is whether the Lava Ridge project is entirely stopped or merely paused with conditions. What exactly do "blocked until" and "alternate plans to reduce" entail? Could it mean fewer wind turbines or shorter ones?
I also wish to emphasize that elected officials and stakeholders, particularly the residents of Jerome and Lincoln County, have voiced their opinions loud and clear: they see no alternative plan for the Lava Ridge project; for them, the only acceptable outcome is no project at all.
If the Lava Ridge Wind Project is indeed halted, it's because the people of the Magic Valley have tirelessly advocated for it. I recently attended an event where the speaker aptly remarked, "Politicians worry about the next election; Patriots worry about the next generation." The residents of the Magic Valley are Patriots, fighting to preserve their part of Idaho for the generations to come. And I stand with them in holding the line.
Keep FIGHTING, Magic Valley! I am PROUD OF YOU!
Yes, thank you, Glenneda. I used to work for the BLM. Last time I called they were getting ready to make the decision in the next month or two. I rather doubt that it’s been suspended in anyway.
"Politicians worry about the next election; Patriots worry about the next generation."
yes, so true!
